The CLP process offers a new approach to removing CO₂ from the atmosphere and recovering it in a usable form with the help of seawater as a reaction medium. The process is designed to operate with minimal impact on natural resources and can be easily integrated into existing coastal infrastructure (desalination plants, power stations, etc.).
CLP could potentially be a useful addition to existing measures for reducing emissions and capturing CO₂. As the technology is still under development, further research and demonstration projects are needed to reliably assess its efficiency, scalability and long-term performance.
Despite these unanswered questions, the process shows promising potential to contribute to reducing atmospheric CO₂ concentrations as part of a broader portfolio of climate protection strategies.
