Georg Habighorst is a German financial expert with over 30 years of experience in the banking, construction, project development and real estate sectors. Since January 2018, he has been managing partner of AVICOR GmbH, based in Mainz, which advises companies, start-ups and local authorities on financial and strategic issues, funding, partnerships and project development.

Before joining AVICOR, Habighorst was Director and Head of Investment Finance Germany at pbb Deutsche Pfandbriefbank AG, where he was responsible for the German market. Prior to that, he worked for over 14 years as a senior account manager in the area of public-private partnerships (PPP) and structured finance at Eurohypo AG.

Michael Fuhr began studying Geosciences in Kiel in 2016.
2021 hat er seinen Master in Marine Geosciences erhalten. In seiner Promotion zu enhanced benthic weathering steht die Lösungskinetik von Kalk und Dunit auf und in organikreichem Sediment der Ostsee und der damit verbundenen CO₂-Capture from the atmosphere is the focus. At Carbon Ocean, he is responsible for the modeling and the conceptual implementation of the precipitation of calcium carbonate from seawater for CO₂-Extraction.

M.SC Jannes Kowalski studied Maritime Geosciences at the Christian-Albrechts University of Kiel. He has gained experience through his work at the Institute of Geosciences in Kiel, particularly in sample collection, measurement, and data evaluation. During his time at the engineering geology firm Boden & Lipka in Kiel, his main responsibilities included collecting soil samples and creating soil profiles.

Ece Atlamaz is a dedicated Environmental and Materials Engineer. Her interdisciplinary background developed through the environmental engineering master's program (IMETE), where she specialized in drinking water treatment. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in Materials Science and Nanotechnology Engineering from TOBB University in Ankara, Turkey.
She has gained hands-on expertise through research projects and internships, including work at TAUW Netherlands on a pilot project targeting PFAS removal from groundwater, and at UCT Prague investigating silica particle size effects on radioactive waste vitrification.
Her experience spans experimental laboratory techniques, data analysis, water treatment and advanced material applications, contributing to collaborative research and fieldwork in various environmental domains.​

Dr. Peter Linke hat an der Universität Kiel Meeresbiologe studiert und in seiner Promotion die Kopplung von pelagischen und benthischen Prozessen im Kohlenstoffkreislauf der Tiefsee untersucht. Er arbeitet seit 1993 am GEOMAR an der Untersuchung biogeochemischer Stoffflüsse an aktiven und passiven Kontinentalrändern unter Einsatz moderner Mess-, und Videotechnologien. Zuletzt leitete er für 10 Jahre das Technologie- und Logistikzentrum des GEOMAR und trug dazu bei, einen Rahmen für bewährte Umweltpraktiken für die Offshore-CO2-Injektion und -Speicherung (CCS) zu schaffen. Er ist seit Januar 2026 als Mitarbeiter im Carbon Ocean Projekt tätig.

Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Anton Eisenhauer is a German physicist and geochemist who has been Professor of Marine Environmental Geochemistry at the GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel since 2000.
Eisenhauer's research focuses on isotope geochemistry, the chemical history of the ocean and the development of isotope proxy methods for reconstructing past climate and environmental conditions. He is particularly interested in corals and reefs as archives for marine chemism and marine biomineralization, especially calcification.
In 2023, he and his team were awarded the Innovation Prize of the City of Kiel.
